One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. a) TOC Department; On or about January 20, 2022, and at times thereto, employees were exposed to machine guard hazard in that the employer did not ensure that the light curtains on the 80/90/100 leak station machine were operational.

29 CFR 1904.39(a)(2): The employer did not report within 24-hours a work-related incident resulting in in-patient hospitalization, amputation or the loss of an eye. a) Facility; On or about February 2, 2022, and at times thereto, the employer failed to report an amputation injury involving the right middle finger caused by inoperable safety devices such as light curtains on the leak tester 80/90/100.
