29 CFR  1910.184(d): Inspections. Each day before being used, the sling and all fastenings and attachments shall be inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer. Additional inspections shall be performed during sling use, where service conditions warrant. Damaged or defective slings shall be immediately removed from service:   On or about March 1, 2022, at a workplace located at 1333 Scheuring Road, De Pere, WI, on the maintenance forklift: employees were exposed to potential struck-by and/or crushing hazards from synthetic web slings were not removed from service immediately that showed signs of wear, threading damage, oil penetration and/or cuts to sling threads, including but not limited to:   a) The entirety of the LiftAll polyester EN1-601Dx 5ft., Serial No. 537815-61 sling body was discolored and the synthetic webbing was stiff.  b) The entirety of the LiftAll polyester EN1-601Dx 5ft., Serial No. 578648-251 sling body was discolored, the synthetic webbing was stiff, and the side of the sling was abraded/had cut fibers.
