29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Primary Department- On or about March 18, 2022, the employer did not ensure that all moving parts and points of operation were guarded in a manner that would prevent employees from having any part of their body in the danger zone during operation or inadvertently coming in contact with moving parts, such as the automatic metal sheet loader on the Shear Genius (SG6) by Finn-Power. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CPR 1910.145(f)(7): Warning tags were not used to identify and warn employees of hazards that could present a threat of death or serious injury to employees: a) Primary Department- On or about March 18, 2022, warning tags were not used to identify hazards created by moving equipment on the Shear Genius (SG6) by Finn-Power, such as the automatic sheet loader. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
