29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special handtools for placing and removing material shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided. The employer is failing to protect employees from caught-between hazards while performing Cereal Manufacturing activities. This was most recently observed at 49601 F Street, Omaha, NE 68112, on March 22th, 2022, where the employer has employees working to unclog dough from the slide gate of a cereal manufacturing machine with a standard screwdriver, while it was running and unguarded.
