29 CFR  1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person (i.e., a person who is capable of identifying existing hazards).  (a) KBC Builders, 2660 W. Holden Pl, Denver, CO 80204: On 2/4/2022, KBC Builders, as the creating and correcting employer, exposed employees of Pinkard Construction (General Contractor) and Faris Machinery (Subcontractor), to overhead falling object hazards in that sheeting being installed above workers was not secured so that it would not fall, nor was the area below the sheeting installation marked or designated as a fall zone for overhead materials.

29 CFR  1926.501(c)(3): The employer did not barricade the area to which objects could fall, did not prohibit employees from entering the barricaded area, and did not keep objects that could fall far enough away from the edge of a higher level so that those objects would not go over the edge if they were accidentally displaced:  a) KBC Builders, 2660 W Holden Pl, Denver. CO 80226: On 2/4/2022, KBC Builders, as the creating and correcting employer, did not ensure that employees of Pinkard Construction (General) and Faris Machinery(sub), were protected from overhead falling object hazards during wall sheeting installation on the outside wall on the 7th floor of a building under construction.  The sheeting was not secured to ensure it would not fall, nor was the area below barricaded to ensure workers were not in the area.  Two employees were in the area below the sheeting operations when a piece of sheeting fell, striking one of the workers.

29 CFR  1926.503(a)(1):The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:  (a) KBC Builders, 2660 W. Holden Pl, Denver, CO 80204: On 2/4/2022, KBC Builders did not ensure that employees were trained on the recognition of fall hazards and falling object hazards associated with the work that they were directed to perform. This resulted in workers creating hazards that they did not recognize. A piece of fire treated plywood sheeting was dropped from the seventh floor to the third floor striking an individual below.
