The unsecured steel beam fell and struck the employee on his left foot, on or about 5/12/2022.

29 CFR 1926.859(g): During demolition, continuing inspections by a competent person shall be made as the work progresses to detect hazards resulting from weakened or deteriorated floors, or walls, or loosened material. No employee shall be permitted to work where such hazards exist until they are corrected by shoring, bracing, or other effective means. a) 300 Willow Brook Blvd, Wayne NJ: A competent person did not do a continuing inspection during demolition work that progressed to detect hazards. A steel beam approximately 37 feet in length and 11 feet in height was not secured from accidental displacement. The unsecured metal beam fell and struck the employee on his left foot, on or about 5/12/2022.
