On or about 04/29/22 Employer allowed employees to operate pneumatic nail guns and electric circular saws without eye protection.

29 CFR  1926.405(g)(2)(iii):Splices. Flexible cords shall be used only in continuous lengths without splice or tap. Hard service flexible cords No. 12 or larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced.  On or about 04/29/22 Employer exposed employees to a shock/electrocution hazard by allowing the use of a spliced flex cord, powering an electric circular saw.

29 CFR  1926.451(b)(5)(ii):Each platform greater than 10 feet in length shall not extend over its support more than 18 inches (46 cm), unless it is designed and installed so that the cantilevered portion of the platform is able to support employees without tipping, or has guardrails which block employee access to the cantilevered end.  On or about 04/29/22 Employees were exposed to an approximately 10' fall hazard by being allowed to install framing members from a single pole scaffold with 10' platforms that extended approximately 36'' over the support.

29 CFR  1926.451(g)(1):Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part.  On or about 04/29/22 employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 10' to lower ground level while working at height from a scaffold platform without fall protection.
