Except as provided elsewhere in this section, the employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the following: On or about May 18, 2022 employees were not protected from a fall of 4 feet at loading docks, including dock 46 and dock 48, due to the garage door open, no truck present, and the Sentry safety bar not lowered to prevent inadvertent falls.
