29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a)Hydro Extrusion USA, LLC at 2500 Alumax Road in Yankton, SD 57078: On or about and at times prior to June 14, 2022, the employer did not implemented appropriate guarding to ensure employees were protected from pinch point hazards created by movement of aluminum billet on the Press Line #83 Log Table and associated conveyor when performing work in the vicinity. This condition exposed employees to pinch point hazards. (b)Hydro Extrusion USA, LLC at 2500 Alumax Road in Yankton, SD 57078: On or about and at times prior to June 26, 2022, the employer did not implemented appropriate guarding to ensure employees were protected from caught-in, struck-by and pinch points created by movement of the billet loader on Press Line #83. This condition exposed employees to caught-in, struck-by and pinch point hazards. (c)Hydro Extrusion USA, LLC at 2500 Alumax Road in Yankton, SD 57078: On or about and at times prior to June 26, 2022, the employer did not implemented appropriate guarding to ensure employees were protected from caught-in, struck-by and pinch points created from movement of the puller when performing work near the Northwest corner of the finger table of Press Line #83. This condition exposed employees to caught-in, struck-by and pinch point hazards.
