29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a.) Eastern Sintered Alloys Inc; 10K Cell area- Front Side of Machines: On or about 06/23/2022 and at times prior thereto, employees were working at and around Gasbarre presses which did not have machine guarding in place to prevent employees from contacting moving parts. The moving parts included, but were not limited to, sliding arm, hydraulic cylinder, and associated linkage. These conditions were present on Powder Molding Presses including but not limited to: 1.) Press #59 2.) Press: #66 3.) Press #68 4.) Press #74 5.) Press #79 b.) Eastern Sintered Alloys Inc; 10K Cell area - Back Side of Machines: On or about 06/23/2022 and at times prior thereto, employees were working at and around Gasbarre presses which did not have machine guarding in place to prevent employees from contacting moving parts. The moving parts included, but were not limited to, cam shafts, sprockets, and associated linkages. These conditions were present on Powder Molding Presses including but not limited to: 1.) 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii): Point of operation guards were not designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of their body in the danger zone during the operating cycle: a.) Eastern Sintered Alloys Inc; 10K Cell area- Front Side of Machines: On or about 06/23/2022 and at times prior thereto, employees were working at and around Gasbarre presses which did not have adequate machine guarding in place to prevent employees from reaching over the existing guard and contacting the point of operation. These conditions were present on Powder Molding Presses including but not limited to: 1.) Press #59 2.) Press: #66 3.) Press #68 4.) Press #74 5.) Press #79 b.) Eastern Sintered Alloys Inc; 10K Cell area- Front Side of Machines: On or about 06/23/2022 and at times prior thereto, the safety latches on the existing guards were easily defeatable because they are not interlocked to prevent employees from removing the guards. These conditions were present on Powder Molding Presses including but not limited to: 1.) Press #59 2.) Press: #66 3.) Press #68 4.) Press #74 5.) Press #79
