29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. a) On or about July 19, 2022, an employee was injured while operating the paper folding machine #3194 located at 22801 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44117 in the lamination, transformer and leads department. The employer did not ensure one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operator from the caught between hazard generated by the ram.
