29 CFR 1926.25(a):During the course of construction, alteration, or repairs, form and scrap lumber with protruding nails, and all other debris was not kept cleared from work areas, passageways, and stairs, in and around buildings or other structures: At the Gateway Woods apartment project employees in the following instance: a) Building 2, where the ground around the workers was littered with construction debris, some of which had protruding nails. The employees were observed stepping over and onto the debris as they carried siding from the saws to the installers, exposing them to the hazard of tripping and falling.
