Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.    On or about September 13, 2022, at jobsite located in 896 S. Hillside Ave., Elmhurst, IL. 60126, employees were exposed to fall hazards in excess of  13 feet while engaged in residential roofing activities. Fall protection was not being utilized adequately while performing roofing activities. Employees were wearing harness and not tied-off to a lifeline lanyard.     No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.   Gilberto Ortiz dba A&I Exterior Experts  was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1601215 , citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order August 25, 2022 , with respect to a workplace located at 325 N. Blanchard., Wheaton, IL 60187.

The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:    On or about September 13, 2022, at jobsite located in 896 S. Hillside Ave., Elmhurst, IL. 60126, Employees performing roofing activities work at a residential home were exposed to fall hazards in approximately 13 feet with no fall protection when the employer failed to ensure they were adequately trained to recognize and minimize the hazards associated with fall.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).   Gilberto Ortiz dba A&I Exterior Experts  was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1601215 , citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order August 25, 2022 , with respect to a workplace located at 325 N. Blanchard., Wheaton, IL 60187.
