No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route.  a) Northeast emergency exit,  on or about September 20, 2022  boxed merchandise and a forklift was blocking the exit exposing employees to delayed egress and fire hazards.  b) Southeast emergency exit, on or about September 20, 2022  boxed merchandise was obstructing the exit exposing employees to delayed egress and fire hazards.  c)  Southwest emergency exit, on or about September 20, 2022 boxed merchandise was obstructing the exit exposing employees to delayed egress and fire hazards.

29 CFR  1910.176(a): Where mechanical handling equipment was used, sufficient safe clearances was not allowed for aisles, at loading docks, through doorways and wherever turns or passage were made. Aisles and passageways were not kept clear and in good repair, with no obstruction across or in aisles that could create a hazard. Permanent aisles and passageways were not appropriately marked.  a) Warehouse area:  On or about September 20, 2022 and at times prior, employees operated forklifts to move materials in obstructed aisles ,  and passageways which were not marked. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards.

29 CFR  1960.8(a) The Agency head did not furnish employment and a place of employment to each employee that were free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm:   a) Warehouse: On or about September 20, 2022, employees performed material handling operations using an industrial steal racking system for  furniture merchandise stored on the shelving. Interior, front and rear column baseplates on the frames of the racking system were not anchored to the floor to resist all applicable forces, exposing employees to struck-by and crushing hazard.  b) Warehouse: On or about September 20, 2022, employees performed material handling operations using an industrial steal racking system for  furniture merchandise stored on the shelving. Racking system cross braces were not maintained free from damage, exposing employees to struck-by and crushing hazard.  c) Warehouse: On or about September 20, 2022, employees performed material handling operations using an industrial steal racking system for  furniture merchandise stored on the shelving. No pallet support members were being utilized to support the furniture stored on pallets, exposing employees to struck-by and crushing hazard.
