Windsor CO 80550: On October 5, 2022 the employer did not evaluate the coil fan room to determine if it was a permit-required confined space. An employee was working inside the coil fan room to repair a leak and was unable to evacuate when the strainer cap broke off releasing hot steam into the room causing the employee to sustain burns to his body. This condition exposed employees to delayed rescue in the event of an injury and burns.
