29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) 57 Chestnut Street, Binghamton, NY 13905: On or about October 7, 2022, employees were accessing a roof using a portable ladder but the ladder's side rails were not extended 3 feet beyond the access point. The (J Home Remodeling, Inc.) was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.1053(b)(1)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1558045, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on (February 24, 2022), with respect to a workplace located at 195 Oneida Street, Oneonta, NY 13820.
