29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:   On or about October 12, 2022, the employer did not ensure one or more methods of machine guarding were provided to protect the robot sawjet operators and other employees working in the operating envelope of the Baka SawJet. The employer was running the Baka SawJet in Maintenance mode during production which disabled the light curtains.

29 CFR  1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed:  On or about  October 12, 2022, the employer did not ensure periodic inspections of energy control procedures included a review of each authorized employee's responsibilities under the energy control procedures.  Authorized employees perform servicing and maintenance activities on the Baka SawJet robots requiring energy control. Employees were exposed to electrical and high pressure water energy sources.

Employees engage in the service and maintenance activities on machinery and equipment including, but not limited to; the Baka SawJet robots. Employees were exposed to electrical and high pressure water energy sources.
