29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.4 The eyewash unit shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment. Produce Prep Room: On and before October 17, 2022, and at times prior to, employees were handling corrosive chemical materials such as Concentrated Bleach where an emergency eye wash station in close proximity for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes was blocked by an open door. The employer had not kept the station available for immediate use. Employees were potentially exposed to severe eye burns or blindness. The Defense Commissary Agency Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.151(c), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1241536, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 04, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at Defense Commissary Agency Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1): Employer did not have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use: Cash Cage and Cashier Registers: On and before October 17, 2022, and at times prior to, employees used Purell Hand Sanitizer more frequently than consumer use to clean registers for meat spills and when cleaning hands after money processing and had reported dermatitis symptoms to management. The employer did not have a safety data sheet available onsite. Employees were potentially exposed to dermatitis, abrasions, and skin irritations.
