29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) In the machining area; A Genesis 10-inch drill press was used to chamfer metal parts without guarding the spinning chamfer bit and spindle.

29 CFR 1910.334(a)(1): Flexible electric cords were fastened with staples or otherwise hung in such a fashion as could damage the outer jacket or insulation: (a) In the machining area; Employees were programming and operating the HAAS CNC-05 lathe while standing and sitting near a hanging, unsupported surge protector which was used to provide power to the input computer and equipment. The weight of the surge protector placed strain on the plug and insulation and exposed the prongs of the plug while energized.
