Citation 1, Item 1 - Amend to:  29 CFR 1910.138(b): Selection. Employer did not base the  selection of the appropriate hand protection on an  evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the task(s) to be performed,  conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and  potential hazards identified.  On or about November 8, 2022, in the rubber slitter 1118- 84" line, where employees applied tape to the rubber being fed into the slitter, the employer did not implement  appropriate hand protection based on the task to be  performed and the potential hazards. On the date above, an employee applying tape to the rubber, was injured when, due to the use of a glove that was not compatible to the task being performed, his hand got pulled under the separator  bar.   29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.  Site: Rubber Slitter 1118-84"   On or about November 8, 2022 in the rubber slitter 1118-84",  line where employees applied tapes to the rubber being fed in to the slitter, the employer did not implement a safe method to protect the workers' arms from getting caught in the separator. On the date above,  an employee applying tapes to the rubber,  was injured when his hand got pulled under the separator.
