The employer fails to ensure that all places of employment, passageways, and walking-working surfaces are kept in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.  a) This most recently occurred on or about November 16, 2022, at an establishment located at 991 Marquette Street in Kewaunee, Wisconsin; employees are exposed to trip and fall hazards while working in the receiving room, aisles 16 and 17, and the aisle endcaps from merchandise, wheeled carts, boxes, and totes that are stored throughout the walking-working surfaces.

29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes must be free and unobstructed. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Stairs or a ramp must be provided where the exit route is not substantially level.  The employer does not ensure that exit routes in the receiving room are kept free and unobstructed.  a) This most recently occurred on or about November 15, 2022, at Dollar General Store No. 6509, located at 991 Marquette Street in Kewaunee, Wisconsin; The emergency exit route from the back of the store and the receiving room is obstructed with rolltainers loaded with merchandise and cardboard, bags of garbage, and a garbage can. The exit route is restricted to approximately 16 inches.   b) This most recently occurred on or about November 16, 2022, at Dollar General Store No. 6509, located at 991 Marquette Street in Kewaunee, Wisconsin; The emergency exit route from the bathroom to the front door is inaccessible as it is blocked by two wheeled carts. The exit route is restricted to approximately 16 and 23 inches.
