29 CFR 1910.272(j)(1):The employer did not develop and implement a written housekeeping program that established the frequency and the method(s) determined best to reduce accumulations of fugitive grain dust on ledges, floors, equipment, and other exposures: (a)South Dakota Soybean Processors, LLC at 100 Caspian Avenue, Volga, SD 57071: On or about and at times prior to November 18, 2023, the employer did not implement an effective written housekeeping program, employees were performing work in the vicinity of the Farm-Aid 560 Mixer, where dust accumulations were in excess of two inches around the mixer. This condition exposed employees to fire and explosion hazards.

29 CFR 1910.22(a)(3): The employer did not ensure that walking-working surfaces are maintained free of hazards such as sharp or protruding objects, loose boards, corrosion, leaks, spills, snow, and ice: (a)South Dakota Soybean Processors, LLC at 100 Caspian Avenue, Volga, SD 57071: On or about and at times prior to November 18, 2023, the employer did not ensure that employees performing work near the flaking operation floor were protected from trip hazards in that an approximate six inch diameter floor hole was not covered or otherwise appropriately mitigated. This condition exposed employees to trip hazards.
