1926.501(b)(1)  Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  Jobsite (Safe Hope - Harvey) located at 316 Oak Street Newton Kansas, employees engaged in installing duct works for the HVAC activities were exposed to 9 feet 5 inches fall hazards in that conventional fall protection equipment or any other means of alternative fall protection were not utilized, were not implemented. The employer permitted employees to install duct works for the HVAC while positioned upon the open space deck ceiling area for which no fall protection was used.
