29 CFR  1903.19(d)(1):The employer must submit to the Agency, along with the information on abatement certification required by paragraph (c)(3) of this section, documents demonstrating that abatement is complete for each willful or repeat violation and for any serious violation for which the Agency indicates in the citation that such abatement documentation is required.  a. For Citation 1, Item 1a issued on February 24, 2023, with an abatement date of March 31, 2023, the employer failed to submit abatement documentation and certification of abatement within 10 calendar days of the abatement date.  b. For Citation 1, Item 1b issued on February 24, 2023, with an abatement date of March 15, 2023, the employer failed to submit abatement documentation and certification of abatement within 10 calendar days of the abatement date.  a. For Citation 1, Item 2 issued on February 24, 2023, with an abatement date of March 31, 2023, the employer failed to submit abatement documentation and certification of abatement within 10 calendar days of the abatement date.

29 CFR  1910.1030(c)(1)(i): Each employer having an employee(s) with occupational exposure as defined by paragraph (b) of this section shall establish a written Exposure Control Plan designed to eliminate or minimize employee exposure.   On or about November 23, 2023, the employer did not establish a written exposure control plan to eliminate or minimize employee exposure to blood when cleaning guest rooms.  Norwood Inn & Suites Columbus was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1030(c)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1572567, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on March 1, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1213 E Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43229.

29 CFR  1910.1030(f)(1)(i): The employer shall make available the hepatitis B vaccine and vaccination series to all employees who have occupational exposure, and post-exposure evaluation and follow-up to all employees who have had an exposure incident.   On or about November 23, 2022, the employer did not offer the Hepatitis B vaccination to employees that had exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials while cleaning rooms.   Norwood Inn & Suites Columbus was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1030(f)(2)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1572567, citation number 1, item number 1b and was affirmed as a final order on March 1, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1213 E Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43229.

29 CFR  1910.1200(e)(1):Employers shall develop, implement, and maintain at each workplace, a written hazard communication program which at least describes how the criteria specified in paragraphs (f), (g), and (h) of this section for labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets, and employee information and training will be met.  On or about November 23, 2022, the written hazard communication program that was in place was not updated to reflect the change from material safety data sheets (MSDS) to safety data sheets (SDS) and other important changes, safety data sheets did not reflect hazardous chemicals used in the facility, such as but not limited to Scrub Free Bathroom Cleaner Plus Oxiclean Soap Scum Fighter, and training was not done.  Norwood Inn and Suites Columbus was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1200(e)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1572567, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on March 1, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1213 E Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43229.
