29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Detail shop, band saw; On or about December 6, 2022, and at times prior to the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that employees were allowed to utilize a band saw to cut material without first adjusting the guard around the saw blade itself. b) Detail shop, large press break; On or about December 6, 2022, and at times prior to the employer exposed employee to amputation hazards in that employees were allowed to operate the large press break machine without providing a method or procedure for each operator to have positive control of the downward motion of the press.
