Bags, containers, bundles, etc., stored in tiers shall be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse. Garage-701 Klimstra Court Morrison, IL 61270: On or about December 21, 2022, in the garage, the employer did not ensure proper securement of material storage. Employee(s) were required to stack bundles of metal rods, resulting in exposure to struck-by hazards. Violation was Corrected During Inspection

29 CFR 1904.39(a)(2): Basic Requirement. Within twenty-four (24) hours after the in-patient hospitalization of one or more employees or an employee's amputation or an employee's loss of an eye, as a result of a work-related incident, you must report the in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye to OSHA. Garage- 701 Klimstra Court Morrison, IL 61270: On or about December 21, 2022 an employee was hospitalized after being pinned between a bundle of steel metal rods and the garage door while performing as a spotter to stage the steel bundles in the garage. The employer failed to report the hospitalization within 24 hours, and notification of hospitalization was not given to OSHA until January 3, 2023. This item was corrected during inspection.
