All surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of lead. a) The employer did not ensure that all surfaces were maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of lead. Wipe samples collected on January 19, 2023 from multiple locations, including station 534 jigs 1, 2, 3, and the work center soldering station six indicated the presence of lead ranging from 146.09 to 7,487 micrograms. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

Employees had a potential exposure to lead when performing soldering operations. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. The employer did not provide training to employees regarding the hazards associated with lead.
