29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. On or about January 12, 2023, and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to machine guarding hazards in the workplace. a. On Assembly Line One employees were cleaning the conveyor belt with an unguarded pinch point, exposing the employees to an amputation hazard. b. On Assembly Line Three employees were producing food trays on a conveyor belt with an unguarded pinch point, exposing the employees to an amputation hazard. c. On the Fry Line employees were producing fried chicken products on a conveyor belt with an unguarded pinch point, exposing the employees to an amputation hazard.
