29 CFR  1910.132(d)(1):The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment:  Employees were exposed to chemical hazards at the jobsite located at 1200-1299 West 530th Avenue, McCune, KS. Employees engaged in oil field maintenance activities were exposed to health hazards in that the employer did not conduct a hazard assessment of the jobsite to determine the need for and types of personal protective equipment when handling gasoline and crude oil. Exposure to these chemicals can result in eye and skin irritation. Additionally, crude oil, a highly flammable liquid, may cause genetic defects and cancer.

29 CFR  1910.1200(e)(1):The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:  Employees are exposed to chemical hazards at the jobsite located at 1200-1299 West 530th Avenue, McCune, KS. Employees engaged in oil field maintenance activities were exposed to health hazards in that a written Hazard Communication Program had not been developed or implemented to address the use of gasoline and exposure to crude oil. Exposure to these chemicals can result in eye and skin irritation. Additionally, crude oil, a highly flammable liquid, may cause genetic defects and cancer.

Employees engaged in oil field maintenance activities were exposed to health hazards in that they were not provided access to Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for gasoline and crude oil.  Exposure to these chemicals can result in eye and skin irritation. Additionally, crude oil, a highly flammable liquid, may cause genetic defects and cancer.
