29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1):Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions. a) At the site located on the corner of US-1 S and Quick Road Swainsboro, GA 30401: on or about February 8, 2023, and at times prior to, the employer exposed employees to engulfment/cave-in hazards in that the employer failed to perform a daily inspection of the trench conditions prior to permitting employees to enter.
