29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about February 9, 2023, machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator from hazards including, but not limited to, point of operation, ingoing nip point, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. a) The operator of the American Tool Works manual Lathe in the maintenance department was exposed to hazards rotating parts, flying chips and sparks hazards. b) The operator of the Bridgeport manual mill in the maintenance department S/N 118112-2 was exposed to hazards rotating parts, flying chips and sparks hazards.
