29 CFR 1910.37(a)(1): Exit routes must be kept free of explosive or highly flammable furnishings or other decorations: On or about February 17, 2023, employees were potentially exposed to burns and other hazards created by flammable chemicals that were improperly stored. In the following instances, flammable chemicals were located within 6 feet of designated exit doors and thus had the potential to restrict access to the exit route in the event of a fire: a. Southeast Exit Door at Bay 5, FL02: A flammable storage cabinet containing approximately 20 gallons of Category 3 flammable diesel fuel was storage immediately adjacent to the designated exit door. b. West Wall, Main Bay: A ZEP solvent tank that contained up to 45 gallons of BZ7482 Parts Washer Solvent R19835 5G, a Category 2 highly flammable liquid, was installed 4 feet from the designated exit door. c. West Wall, Main Bay: A ZEP solvent tank that contained up to 45 gallons of BZ7482 Parts Washer Solvent R19835 5G, a Category 2 highly flammable liquid, was installed 6 feet from the designated exit door.

29 CFR 1910.125(e)(5): You must prohibit smoking in a vapor area and must post a readily visible "No Smoking" sign near each dip tank: On or about February 17, 2023, employees were potentially exposed to burns and other hazards created by flammable chemicals that were improperly labeled. In the following instances, signage indicting "No Smoking" was not posted where dip tanks were used. a. West Wall, Main Bay, 4 feet right of designated exit door: A ZEP solvent tank that contained up to 45 gallons of BZ7482 Parts Washer Solvent R19835 5G, a Category 2 highly flammable liquid. b. West Wall, Main Bay, 6 feet left of designated exit door: A ZEP solvent tank that contained up to 45 gallons of BZ7482 Parts Washer Solvent R19835 5G, a Category 2 highly flammable liquid.

In the following instances, there was no signage or labels to indicate the specific hazards associated with the solvent tanks: a. West Wall, Main Bay, 4 feet right of designated exit door: A ZEP solvent tank contained up to 45 gallons of BZ7482 Parts Washer Solvent R19835 5G, a Category 2 highly flammable liquid and aspiration hazard. b. West Wall, Main Bay, 6 feet left of designated exit door: A ZEP solvent tank contained up to 45 gallons of BZ7482 Parts Washer Solvent R19835 5G, a Category 2 highly flammable liquid and aspiration hazard.
