29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Location: North Building 4: On or about March 9, 2023 the following machines were not provided with appropriate guarding: a) Drill Press: There was approximately a ?" gap between top and bottom edges of drive belt cover. b) Disc Sander: There was approximately a 2.5" gap between peripheral guard and work rest. c) Bandsaw: The unguarded portion of the blade was approximately 2.5 times greater than the estimated diameter of the 90 degree elbow that had been recently trimmed and left on the table.

Location: North Building (4): On or about March 9, 2023 the power cord leading from the horizontal bandsaw motor was spliced into an extension cord with adhesive tape without retaining the insulation or outer sheath properties .
