29 CFR  1903.19(c)(1):  he employer did not certify to OSHA, within 10 calendar days after the abatement date, that the cited violation ad been abated:  North Shore Framing Inc., failed to certify to OSHA within 10 calendar days after the abatement date that each  of the following cited violations had been corrected:  Citation 1, Item 1, 1926.501(b)(1)   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1):  Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  a) On March 14, 2023, employees engaged in framing work were not protected from fall hazards while working at an elevation of up to approximately 25 feet above the ground.   North Shore Framing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1613708, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on December 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 2140 N Rockwell St., Chicago, IL 60647.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with one stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge:   a) On March 14, 2023, employees were using a stairway to access the third story deck. The stairway that was utilized was not equipped with a stair rail system on either side thereby exposing themselves to falls.  North Shore Framing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1613708, citation number 1, item number 4a and was affirmed as a final order on December 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 2140 N Rockwell St., Chicago, IL 60647.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
