29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. (a) Roof of steel building under construction; On and before mid-day on March 15, 2023, fall protection consisting of a guardrail system, safety net system, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems was not installed to protect employees from falls of 30 feet, 10 inches to 16 feet, 10 inches along unprotected eaves, rake edges, the roof peak, and when stepping beyond the leading edge as they installed standing seam type metal roof panels on a building measuring 100 feet x 160 feet with an attached bump-out that was 24 feet x 56 feet.
