29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems: (a) Rooftop of under-construction steel commercial building; On or about October 8, 2024, and dates prior, fall protection methods consisting of a guardrail system, safety net system, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems were not in place to protect employees who were working from the roof to install standing seam metal roofing panels near unprotected edges where approximate fall hazards ranged between approximately 39-feet to 41-feet, 5-inches to ground level. Cedar Falls Building Systems, Inc. was previously cited for a serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1657018, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 6, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 5775 20th Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54703.
