29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Stevinson Chevrolet West Inc., 15000 West Colfax Ave., Lakewood CO. 80401; On or before 03/21/23, employees were exposed to the spinning shaft on the brake lathe machine. Machine had no fixed guard or guard in the vicinity. Employees are exposed to caught-in hazards. b) Stevinson Chevrolet West Inc. at 15000 West Colfax, Lakewood CO. 80401: On or before 03/21/ 2023, employees were exposed to a hydraulic press without a guard. Employees could get body parts caught in the press while making adjustment to parts or be struck by flying debris if material flew out while being pressed.
