29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On or about April 3, 2023, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately 30 feet from the roof of an industrial building during the performance of mechanical and related work activities. Direct Mechanical, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1401836, citation 1, item 2a, and was affirmed as a final order on July 2, 2019, with respect to a worksite located at 1410 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine, Illinois. No abatement certification or documentation required for this violation.
