29 CFR 1910.213(c)(1): Circular handfed ripsaw(s) were not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut: a. On or about April 6, 2023, in the woodworking area, employees were required to operate the Tannewitz #2 woodworking table saw, Model U, Serial #11055, without an equipped hood guard, thereby exposing employees to amputation hazards associated with an unguarded rotating saw blade. b. On or about April 6, 2023, in the woodworking area, employees were required to operate the Greenlee #4 woodworking table saw, Serial #96101, without an equipped hood guard, thereby exposing employees to amputation hazards associated with an unguarded rotating saw blade. c. On or about April 6, 2023, in the woodworking area, employees were required to operate the Tannewitz #3 woodworking table saw, Model U, Serial #11349, without an equipped hood guard, thereby exposing employees to amputation hazards associated with an unguarded rotating saw blade. d. On or about April 6, 2023, in the woodworking area, employees were required to operate the Tannewitz #6 woodworking table saw, Model Q, Serial #4665, without an equipped hood guard, thereby exposing employees to amputation hazards associated with an unguarded rotating saw blade.

29 CFR 1910.213(c)(3): Hand-fed ripsaw(s) did not have non kickback fingers or dogs so located as to oppose the thrust or tendency of the saw to pick up the material or to throw it back toward the operator. They shall be designed to provide adequate holding power for all the thicknesses of materials being cut: a. On or about April 6, 2023, in the woodworking area, the employer did not ensure that the Tannewitz #2 woodworking table saw, Model U, Serial #11055, was equipped with non-kickback fingers to prevent employees from being struck by flying material. Employees were thereby exposed to struck-by hazards associated with a rotating saw blade. b. On or about April 6, 2023, in the woodworking area, the employer did not ensure that the Greenlee #4 woodworking table saw, Serial #96101 was equipped with non-kickback fingers to prevent employees from being struck by flying material. Employees were thereby exposed to struck-by hazards associated with a rotating saw blade. c. On or about April 6, 2023, in the woodworking area, the employer did not ensure that the Tannewitz #3 woodworking table saw, Model U, Serial #11349, was equipped with non-kickback fingers to prevent employees from being struck by flying material. Employees were thereby exposed to struck-by hazards associated with a rotating saw blade. d.
