29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:   a- Building 9, Westampton NJ:  A worker was exposed to a fall hazard, up to and in excess of 10 feet 1 inch to the ground surface below, when accessing to and egressing from a pitched roof from a portable ladder whose side rails did not extend at least 3 feet above the surface being accessed/egressed. Condition observed on or about 04/19/23.

29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.   a- Building 9, Westampton NJ:  A worker was exposed to struck by hazards when using a portable electric circular saw to cut OSB and other sheathing related materials without eye or face protection. Condition observed on or about 04/19/23.

29 CFR  1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:   a- Building 9, Westampton NJ:  A worker was exposed to a fall hazard, up to and in excess of 10 feet 1 inch to the ground surface below, when walking and working from a steep pitched roof  without the use of fall protection.  Condition observed on or about 04/19/23.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
