1926.502(f)(1) The warning line shall be erected around all sides of the roof work area. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10):Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, each employee was not protected by use of a monitoring system: On or about April 20, 2023, employees engaged in roofing activities on a low-slope roof on a commercial construction building located at 5588 Wedgewood Road, Medina, OH 44256 were exposed to a fall of 16.8 feet above the ground and were not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Professional Roofing Services was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(10) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1429518, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 4, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 14709 Ridge Rd. North Royalton, OH 44133.
