29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: (Construction Reference: 1926.59)  At the job site located at 14230 Hunters View St. Wichita, KS, employees engaged in roofing activities were exposed to chemical hazards in that a written hazard communication program had not been developed, implemented and maintained at the job site.  Employees were handling GAF Timberline HDZ asphalt shingles, TopShield elastomeric sealant, and gasoline. The chemical hazards associated with these chemicals include: skin and eye irritation, drowsiness and/or dizziness, respiratory tract irritation, suspected of causing cancer and may be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Additionally, TopShield elastomeric sealant and gasoline, can both act as a fueling agents due to their extreme flammability as a liquid and vapor.
