29 CFR 1910.138(a): Employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: (a) On and before 5/3/2023, at facility, for the machine operator cleaning using degraded gloves, a rag, and lacquer thinner, to clean the blades and wheels inside the Edgeband machine. The employer did not use the appropriate personal protective equipment for the protection of the extremities such as, but not limited to, gloves that are compatible with chemicals in use.
