29 CFR 1910.37(a)(3): Exit routes were not kept free and unobstructed.  Materials or equipment were placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route.  On or about 24 April 2023, at the  back exit door, AmSpec St. Croix location; the egress route and access to an emergency exit door was obstructed by metal railings, a fuel canister and a 25-lb propane metal tank.  NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

29 CFR  1910.106(d)(5)(iii): Flammable liquid storage in office occupancies was not prohibited except that which is required for maintenance and operation of building and operation of equipment.    On or about 24 April 2023, at the enclosed storage area in the back of the building, AmSpec testing laboratories and offices, St. Croix, VI, several 55-gal drums containing a flammable liquid (diesel) co-located next to several oxygen, hydrogen and acetylene cylinders were storage inside in the back of the building.  NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

In an enclosed area where several oxygen, hydrogen and acetylene cylinders where located in the same vicinity of several flammable 55-gall drums of diesel, a minimum of one "No-Smoking" sign was not posted or accessible to employees to prevent them from smoking within the premises.    NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

In an enclosed area where several oxygen, hydrogen and acetylene cylinders where located in the same vicinity of several flammable 55-gall drums of diesel, a minimum of one regulated portable fire extinguisher was not provided or accessible to employees in case of a fire emergency.  NOTE:	Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
