SC Acquisition Company dba Sharpsville Container Corporation,  on or about May 18th, 2023 and times  prior thereto:  Employees were required to utilize supplied breathing air from an oil-lubricated air compressor (Kaishan brand; model: KRSD-50; Serial number 408989) through a full face supplied air respirator (RPB brand; model: NOVA) and Radex brand airline filter system during blasting operations of metal parts onsite.  The employer did not ensure that the compressed breathing air, supplied to company employees, met at least the requirements for Grade D breathing air.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

The company's Radex brand filter system was not replaced or refurbished per the manufacturer's instructions. The last filter changeout for the Radex airline filter system was dated as 12/30/2022 on the Radex airline filter housing.
