29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special hand tools for placing and removing material(s) was not provided to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone: a) At the Purlin machine in the shop, located at 253 One Georgia Drive, Ashburn, GA: On or about May 22, 2023, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards, in that employees were not provided special hand tools for guiding metal onto a conveyor as they were backed out of the machine.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) At the Purlin machine in the shop, located at 253 One Georgia Drive, Ashburn, GA: On or about May 22, 2023, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that, the employer did not guard a known pinch point where employees were required to guide metal onto a conveyor as they were backed out of the machine.
