OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:  a) On or about May 23, 2023, an employee was injured by a violent inmate in the correctional facility's Medical Unit. The assaulted employee sustained multiple injuries including nasal bone fracture, and laceration above eyebrow. The nurse lost consciousness and the assault would have caused more severe injuries including death if inmate/Medical Orderly did not remove the inmate from the employee. The inmate has exhibit violent behavior to the medical staff employees in the past.  b) On or about June 23, 2023, a medical staff employee was assaulted by an inmate while administering medication through the door flap in M-Dorm. The inmate grabbed and pulled the nurses arm through the door flap and refused to follow verbal command to release nurse. In this attack, the nurse sustained abrasion and laceration to the arm.
