29 CFR 1926.200(i): American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards Z35.1-1968, ANSI Z535.2-2011, ANSI Z35.2-1968, and ANSI Z535.5-2011, incorporated by reference in � 1926.6, contain rules in addition to those specifically prescribed in this subpart. The employer did not comply with ANSI Z35.1-1968 or ANSI Z535.2-2011, and ANSI Z35.2-1968 or Z535.5-2011, with respect to such additional rules, as follows: ANSI Z35.1-1968 paragraph 4.3: Safety instruction signs were not used where there was a need for general instructions and suggestions relative to safety measures: (a) Ag/Mechanic's Shop - The employer removed the temporary stair rails and stair landing and mezzanine guardrails for installation of the permanent stair rails and guardrails. The employer did not post safety instruction signs to inform other employees, who performed work activities on the mezzanine and in the mezzanine storage room, not to work in these areas and not to use the stairs to the mezzanine during the period of time that the stairs, stair landings, and mezzanine had no stair railings and guardrails, on or about June 2, 2023. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
