29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about June 14, 2023: Employees engaged in structural steel fabrication activities at Merrill Iron & Steel Inc. located at 2101 N Packard Rd, Springfield, Missouri 65801, were exposed to caught between hazards. The employer did not ensure employees were protected from a Python X Structural machine unguarded point-of-operation while operating a plasma cutter to fabricate structural steel beams.
