29 CFR 1910.212(a)(4): Revolving drums, barrels, and containers were not guarded by an enclosure which is interlocked with the drive mechanism, so that the barrel, drum, or container cannot revolve unless the guard enclosure is in place: a.) Rdg Group, Inc.; Bfg Manufacturing Services, Inc.; Punxsutawney Finishing Works, Inc., Line 21 dryer area, on or about June 22nd, 2023 and times prior thereto: Employees were exposed to a struck-by/caught in hazard created by dryers (Desco Brand Dryer/Spinner) including, but not limited to, the line #21 dryer with an internal rotating barrel/drum. The rotating barrel/drum was not interlocked with the lid and drive mechanism of the dryer potentially allowing employees to open the lid while the barrel/drum was still rotating. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.145(c)(3):Safety instruction sign(s) were not used where there was a need for general instructions and suggestions relative to safety measure(s): a) Rdg Group, Inc.; Bfg Manufacturing Services, Inc.; Punxsutawney Finishing Works, Inc., Line 21 dryer area, on or about June 22nd, 2023 and times prior thereto: Employees were exposed to a struck-by/caught in hazard created by dryers (Desco Brand Dryer/Spinner) including, but not limited to, the line #21 dryer with an internal rotating barrel/drum. The dryer did not contain a safety label to inform employees of the rotating mechanisms within the dryer. Specifically, there was not a label to inform personnel to allow the inner tumbler of the dryer to come to a complete stop prior to opening the dryer lid. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.29(b)(1): The top edge height of top rails, or equivalent guardrail system members, were not 42 inches, plus or minus 3 inches, above the walking-working surface: a) Rdg Group, Inc.; Bfg Manufacturing Services, Inc.; Punxsutawney Finishing Works, Inc., Line 21 dryer area, on or about June 22nd, 2023 and times prior thereto: Employees were walking/working on the catwalk around the line 21 electroplating area. The catwalk was equipped with a guardrail system. The top rail height of the guardrail system was too low in that it was located approximately 36 inches from the deck of the catwalk. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
